Authority in Religion reviews and evaluates the evidences that establish the Bible as the revelation to humans of God's ways and His truth. The status of the Bible as an inerrant God-breathed book, and its role as the ultimate authority in matters of religion, are examined and defended. Non-biblical views that attempt to replace the Bible are reviewed and their shortcomings exposed. These include: human reason (older and neo-liberalism), mysticism, tradition, religious experience (neoorthodoxy), and secular culture (postmodernism). The book will serve effectively as a study textbook, as a reference source, or as a challenging message confirming the Bible's vital role in Christian beliefs and practices.
