The Historical Books is a study commentary on the twelve Old Testament books from Joshua through Esther. Following an introduction to this biblical portion, each of the books is introduced and its contents examined chapter-by-chapter. Special aspects of the Biblical text are discussed, difficult passages explained, connections between these books and the prophets noted, and archeological findings and historical records related to relevant biblical passages.
This volume is the current revision of a study manual that has been widely used in schools and colleges for many years. It will serve particularly as a textbook for Historical Books or the History of Israel, or as a reference manual to anyone studying, teaching or preaching from this Biblical portion.
